English blues singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist John Mayall was the founder of John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers. Growing up in England, his father a jazz guitarist, young john Mayall was always fascinated with American blues. This blend of English rock and American blues would be the main musical contribution of John Mayall. That of course and being the training ground for Eric Clapton and many other important English musicians of the 60s and 70s.
